Washington, D.C. – August 18, 2025 — Former President Donald Trump launched a fresh attack on MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace on Truth Social Sunday, mocking her ratings, calling her a “loser,” and predicting that she would soon be fired from the network.
In his post, Trump reacted to a meme portraying Wallace as a clown and linked to an article describing her as the “Typhoid Mary of Disinformation.”
“She is a loser, with bad ratings, who was already thrown off of The View. She will be fired soon! MSNBC IS DEAD!” Trump wrote.
His remarks appear to have been prompted by Wallace’s fierce on-air criticism of Trump following his high-profile meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska.
Wallace: “He Doesn’t Give a Damn About Democracy”
During a recent segment of Deadline: White House, Wallace accused Trump of abandoning America’s democratic allies and undermining Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression:
“It’s like watching them fight to get a U.S. president who supported them, who gave them weapons to stand up to Russia… and now that could all be erased by a president who doesn’t give a s— about democracy, doesn’t care about our allies, and doesn’t care about the sovereignty of a democratic partner.”
Wallace also made remarks about Trump’s body language during his meeting with Putin, suggesting an unusually friendly physical demeanor:
“There’s a lot of touching. I don’t know if we’ve even seen him touch Melania that much. The handshake, the hand on top of the hand… Everything we’ve learned over the last nine years — this is as fawning as he’s ever been with any public figure.”
Trump Declares: “MSNBC Is Dead”
On the following day, Trump doubled down, posting again: “MSNBC IS DEAD!”
Interestingly, just a day later, The Wall Street Journal reported that MSNBC is undergoing a rebrand. The network — long considered left-leaning — is reportedly being restructured and will adopt a new name: “My Source News Opinion World” (MS NOW) as part of a Comcast-led spin-off from NBCUniversal.
Fox News Digital reached out to MSNBC for comment, but the network has yet to respond publicly.
Tensions Between Trump and the Press Intensify
This latest spat adds fuel to the ongoing feud between Trump and mainstream media, particularly outlets like MSNBC and CNN that frequently criticize his policies and public statements. Nicolle Wallace, a former Republican strategist who turned vocal Trump critic, has been one of the most outspoken voices against the former president.
With Trump actively re-engaging on the political stage ahead of the 2028 election, tensions with media figures like Wallace are only expected to escalate.
