Rosie O’Donnell Says The View Will Be Canceled Over Political Pressure

Comedian and former cohost Rosie O’Donnell believes that The View is under threat of cancellation due to mounting political pressure and accusations of liberal bias. In a lengthy and passionate statement shared via TikTok, O’Donnell voiced serious concerns about censorship and the erosion of free speech in the media.

Rosie O’Donnell Says The View Will Be Canceled Because the “Truth is Dangerous”

In her statement, O’Donnell, who cohosted The View from 2006–2007 and again from 2014–2015, revealed that she has heard rumors from behind the scenes that ABC is reviewing the show’s political stance, particularly its perceived liberal leanings.

Although the network has not publicly confirmed cancellation, O’Donnell wrote:

“They will not cancel the show — which is code for, ‘we’re gonna cancel it, we’re just trying to soften you up first.’”

She framed the situation as part of a wider problem of information control in the United States:

“Because it’s not enough to run the country into the ground. You have to control what people see, what they hear, what they think.”

According to O’Donnell, The View is under fire not because of radical content, but because it represents unfiltered truth spoken by outspoken women.

“The View? That’s a little too much woman. A little too much truth. A little too much Joy Behar saying, ‘I don’t think the insurrection was a tourist visit, Karen.’ Apparently, the truth is dangerous now.”

Rosie O’Donnell on Media Control, Gender, and Political Suppression

O’Donnell went on to say that powerful men in media boardrooms have long tried to silence women who speak out — and that The View’s critics aren’t concerned about bias, but about control and obedience.

“This isn’t about bias. This is about obedience. This is about removing any program that doesn’t align with Trumpism — soft fascism in full lashes with commercial breaks.”

She compared the current climate to authoritarian regimes, stating:

“We are in a dictatorship with good lighting.”

The View Faces Public and Political Backlash

The political pressure on The View has escalated in recent weeks. Republican cohost Ana Navarro faced harsh criticism after comments about Florida detention centers. Later, Joy Behar’s remarks comparing Donald Trump to Barack Obama sparked a public rebuke from the White House, calling her an “irrelevant loser.”

White House spokespeople have released multiple statements criticizing the show, and FCC chair Brendan Carr recently hinted on Fox News that The View could face consequences if it continues with perceived liberal bias.

Rosie O’Donnell’s Message: “We Do Not Get Quieter”

O’Donnell ended her statement with a powerful call for resistance and solidarity among women and truth-tellers in media:

“We do not get quieter. We do not make ourselves smaller so they can feel more comfortable. We speak louder. We take up space. We stand together and say what is true, even when it shakes the walls.”

She warned that silencing shows like The View is part of a larger campaign to erase voices that make those in power “uncomfortable,” and urged her followers to recognize the deeper intent behind media censorship.

“Because the most dangerous sound in the world is a woman who knows what she’s talking about — and refuses to stop.”

The View’s Future Remains Uncertain

The View is currently on summer hiatus and is scheduled to return in September for its 29th season. The cohost panel will include Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

ABC has not officially commented on Rosie O’Donnell’s claims. However, with growing political scrutiny, the future of the long-running talk show remains uncertain.
