Major Broadcast Networks Stay Silent on Viral Cincinnati Brawl That Left Woman Unconscious

As of Thursday, three of America’s biggest broadcast news networks — ABC, CBS, and NBC — still hadn’t aired a single report during their primary morning or evening news shows about the shocking street fight in Cincinnati that left a woman unconscious.

According to a review by the Media Research Center’s NewsBusters, there was no mention of the violent altercation on Good Morning America, World News Tonight, CBS News Mornings, Evening News, Today, or Nightly News in the days following the incident, which occurred early last Saturday.

A follow-up investigation by Fox News Digital confirmed that the networks continued to avoid covering the story even as of Thursday. While ABC and NBC did report on the event through their websites — and NBC included coverage on its streaming service and early-morning show — their major TV programs remained silent.

Brutal Brawl Caught on Video

The fight, which went viral across social media, resulted in five individuals being charged. Footage shows a man in a polo shirt being attacked by a group, beaten and stomped while he lay defenseless on the pavement. A woman — identified only as Holly — tried to step in but was punched so hard she lost consciousness. Photos later revealed her face bloodied and bruised, with a swollen eye and a busted lip.

Cincinnati Leadership Under Fire

In a segment on Fox & Friends, Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno — also the half-brother of Vice President JD Vance — tore into the city’s leadership for their response.

“Cincinnati is a city built by hardworking people over generations. It’s one of Ohio’s gems,” he said. “But this kind of chaos is what happens when incompetent political leaders are allowed to stay in office.”

Moreno has since demanded a formal plan from city leaders to ensure the civil rights and safety of all citizens are protected. He even warned he would seek to withhold federal funds from the city if action isn’t taken. He didn’t hold back on his criticism of the police chief and other officials who, in his view, have downplayed the crisis.

Racial Undertones and Media Silence

NewsBusters suggested the mainstream media’s decision to ignore the incident may have to do with the racial dynamics involved — with the attackers reportedly being Black and the victims White. The report accused ABC, CBS, and NBC of avoiding the topic entirely during their flagship news hours due to the sensitive nature of the racial optics.

City Officials Respond — Or Don’t

Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge offered a limited public comment, stating that the viral video “does not show the full picture,” and represented only one version of the events.

Adding fuel to the fire, a Facebook post believed to belong to City Councilmember Victoria Parks claimed the victims had “begged for that beat down” — a statement that sparked immediate backlash online.

Despite the national attention the brawl has received on social media and on conservative outlets, ABC, CBS, and NBC did not respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
