Three-year-old Trigg Kiser, son of Emilie Kiser, died after falling into the backyard pool of their Arizona home. A Chandler Police Department report reveals her husband, Brady Kiser, knew the boy was playing outside unsupervised before the fatal accident.
A Family’s Heartbreaking Loss That Shook the Community
What started as a seemingly ordinary day turned into a devastating tragedy for Emilie Kiser and her family. In May, the life of her 3-year-old son, Trigg Kiser, was cut short after a drowning accident in the family’s backyard pool in Arizona.
Now, newly released Chandler Police Department documents reveal disturbing details — including an admission from her husband, Brady Kiser, that he knew Trigg was playing outside unsupervised before the fatal incident.

The Tragic Story of Emilie Kiser Son Drowning in Arizona
According to the police report obtained by TMZ, Brady told investigators it was normal for Trigg to play outside, even near the pool. He recalled: “He loved to be outside, he loved to play outside, and so in my mind it was just like other times he went out to play. The difference was I was the only parent home that day.”
At the time, Emilie was out with friends, leaving Brady responsible for both Trigg and their newborn son, Theodore.
The Minutes That Led to the Fatal Pool Accident
Investigators estimated Trigg had been unsupervised in the backyard for over 9 minutes before falling into the pool. He remained submerged for 7 minutes before Brady discovered him.
Initially, Brady told officers he believed Trigg was outside for “5 minutes,” but told others it was “3 minutes.” The police noted inconsistencies between his statements and surveillance footage. Brady later explained that he was doing his best to recall the timeline under extreme stress.

Investigation Findings and Prosecutors’ Decision
The Chandler Police Department concluded the drowning was a “tragic incident” resulting from Trigg being near an unsecured pool without swimming ability, and tripping while playing with an inflatable chair.
The case was reviewed by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for potential charges of “child abuse with criminal negligence”, but prosecutors ultimately declined to press charges.
Emilie Kiser’s Legal Action to Protect Privacy
The release of the new police documents came just after Emilie won a legal victory to have graphic details of the scene redacted from public records. More than two pages of the report obtained by TMZ were blacked out in accordance with the court’s decision.
Trigg was found unconscious in the pool on May 12 and died six days later at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a loss that has left the Arizona community in deep sorrow.
A Painful Reminder of Pool Safety
The heartbreaking loss of Trigg Kiser serves as a sobering reminder of how quickly tragedies can unfold around water. Even a few minutes of unsupervised play near a pool can have devastating consequences.
As the Kiser family grieves, their story underscores the urgent need for pool safety measures, vigilant supervision, and community awareness to prevent similar incidents from taking another young life.
