Brandon Blackstock Dies at 48 After a Private Battle With Cancer

Brandon Blackstock, the ex-husband and former manager of singer Kelly Clarkson, has passed away at the age of 48 following a more than three-year battle with cancer, his family confirmed.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” the family said in a statement to People. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for over three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by loved ones.”

Kelly Clarkson Postponed Shows Amid Blackstock’s Illness

Earlier this year, Kelly Clarkson postponed the remainder of her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace, citing Blackstock’s health and her need to be present for their two children, River Rose and Remington Alexander.

“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows,” Clarkson said. “I so appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding.”
